What is General Dentistry?
If you grew up going to the dentist every six months, then you have a good idea of what a general dentist does. General dentistry focuses primarily on prevention – of cavities, decay, and other diseases and problems related to the teeth, gums, and jaw. If you were born with strong teeth and have practiced good oral hygiene over the years, then you may have never needed any other dental treatment beyond a routine cleaning. For the rest of us, however, general dentists are trained to fill cavities, perform root canals, and carry out all routine dental procedures.

Cosmetic vs. Aesthetic Dentistry
